Don't look now, but the NFL regular season kicks off in less than a month. So where do teams stand now, and what has changed since our post-draft edition?

NJ HORSEMEN CONTINUE TO PLAY THE ROLE OF AGGRESSOR AGAINST SPORTS LEAGUES BY JOHN BRENNAN

The New Jersey Thoroughbred Horsemen’s Association (NJTHA) is on a roll and charging ahead with confidence.
Along with the top elected officials in the state, the horsemen got the U.S. Supreme Court to overturn a 26-year-old law banning Las Vegas-style sports betting outside of Nevada. The NJTHA has also  filed a suit seeking $150 million in damages     due to years of delay in implementing the betting at Monmouth Park.

Now, these same horsemen have upped the ante again, suggesting that what before was called “bad faith” could straddle the line, and beyond, of “a federal crime.”

Official Golf Data Related To Sports Betting Unaffected In PGA Of America Hack by Joss Wood

The hackers have encrypted files containing marketing materials relating to the PGA Championship at Bellerive and next month’s Ryder Cup in France.
Instead of their work on promotional banners and logos, staff found a threatening message on their computers:
“Your network has been penetrated. All files on each host in the network have been encrypted with a strong algorythm.” [sic]
Spelling obviously isn’t one of the hackers areas of expertise, but they’ve effectively taken control of some of the PGA of America’s assets.

DraftKings’ NFL Week 1 Marketing Device Is Alive And Well For 2018 Season by JD McNamara

Another football season is almost upon us, which means DraftKings has once again released its NFL opening week salaries … in July.
For those of you checking your calendars, the first game of the 2018-2019 NFL season isn’t until Thursday, September 6, with the main Sunday slate a few days later on September 9. Heck, the preseason hasn’t even kicked off yet (but it does soon, in case you want to enter some NFL preseason DFS contests).
I’ll get into a breakdown of the reasons DraftKings releases its NFL salaries so early, but let’s cut to the chase: It’s a marketing device that remains alive and well because it works, and it benefits DraftKings more than anybody else.
